This is the place where you can personalize your profile!
But, how?
By moving, adding and personalizing widgets.
You can drag and drop to rearrange.
You can edit widgets to customize them.
The left side has widgets you can add!
Some widgets you can only access when you get a premium membership.
Some widgets have options that are only available when you get a premium membership.
We've split the page into zones!
Certain widgets can only be added to certain zones.
"Why," you ask? Because we want profile pages to have freedom of customization, but also to have some consistency. This way, when anyone visits a deviant, they know they can always find the art in the top left, and personal info in the top right.
Don't forget, restraints can bring out the creativity in you!
Now go forth and astound us all with your devious profiles!
so.... i've known about da for a long time, but never really had a reason to join....... until last night when my friend wen told me she had *ahem* adult *ahem* drawings that only members could see! XD So, this morning, having nothing better to do than stare outside at another day of rain, and watch all 5 movies in my dvd changer without moving from the couch, I decided to upload some stuff to my shiny new da account ^^.
They're pictures i generated with the renderer i've been writing for my game engine. What makes them exciting (to me, at least) is that they're the output of computing (physically-based) high dynamic range lighting values from multi-dimensional (area/volume) light sources. What this means in normal terms is that unlike doom3, where lighting came from a point light source, was low dynamic range, and in the end, generated what you see as "hard shadows," these appear as "soft shadows." I think they're cool (which is why i'm working on them), and unlike most games, these are physically based... not just some bluring and smoothing hacks to make the shadows look soft. And, like real life, these images can have very high contrast ratios (unlike most games). Too bad we don't have anything better than computer monitors to view them on >.<
Anyway, as u can see they're rough, I haven't even included color or material properties or anything into the lighting equations yet, so I decided to upload them as scraps.
Hopefully I'll get the motivation to make them better again soon... job and school have just been sucking the life out of me lately.. zannen da na..
